Designer Kids Clothes by D&G for Fall and Winter 2011

Dolce & Gabbana is one of the very first big designer houses releasing designer kids clothes, their first collection launched in 2001. The main group Dolce & Gabbana is trying to target is young people or these who still want to be young. Therefore, they realised soon enough that these people also want their youngsters wearing cool children clothes and then they started releasing childrens designer clothes successfully since nearly 10 years. The official name of their kids clothing line is “D&G JUNIOR”.

Their clothes are available in a lot of selected designer kids clothes stores but also in official Dolce & Gabbana stores. Alone in Switzerland, there are over 10 stores selling Dolce & Gabbana kids designer clothes. Dolce & Gabbana is also one of the first designer brands offering a wide selection of childrens clothes through online stores. They also created a very kids-friendly homepage presenting their newest lines and advertising.

As one of the first and only brands, Dolce & Gabbana Junior is putting advertisements of childrens designer clothes in adult fashion magazines and on the internet. They are trying to become one of the leading designer kids clothes brands and therefore they are setting pretty moderate prices. So the parents aren’t shocked when they are looking at their clothes.

For the Fall/Winter collection 2011 Dolce & Gabbana chose a classical alpine look with a lot of typical winter patterns like reindeer or snowflakes. But just as important as the stylish look is that the kids feel comfortable in their clothes. Therefore, they mostly release comfy sweaters and jackets with enough space to play in them. For the kids’ health they also release stylish hats, gloves and glasses. So the kids can look stylish while playing in the cold and the parents don’t have to worry that they will get sick.

Once again, Dolce & Gabbana stars with a collection of cool kids clothes that will not only make children look very stylish in these clothes, the kids are also protected from the snow and the sun. As many may forget, designer kids clothes may not only look stylish, they also have to serve the purpose.

Fashion Forward – Designer Kids Clothing Now at Moderate Prices

The old political statement, ‘It’s the economy stupid’ sure rings true today. As in politics, so changes consumer shopping habits for boutique label kids clothes. Three years ago customers of upscale children’s clothes rarely turned a tag over to look at price before they bought several thousand dollars worth of back to school clothes because it was all about picking the right labels with the hottest, freshest looks, whether it be European or American. Today, however, the vast majority, including me, do what I call a ‘fashion reality check’ and broadly look at the price to see if the fashion is being provided at a good value.

A quick check of some of the hottest kids labels shows a great girls coat close to $200 three years ago, but today $100, a fun bright girls summer dress $75 now $35 and an adorable baby outfit $60, now $30. Wow, I’m amazed at the number of kids clothing designers that have restructured their businesses to provide affordable fashion without compromising on quality.

It takes years to effect a successful business restructuring so did all these companies anticipate a soft economy? I think not. The catalyst for change was the big box retailer Target. As one of the nation’s largest apparel sellers, Target raised the fashion value bar to new heights and set a standard that boutique labels needed to exceed to remain successful. In essence, branded apparel manufacturers need to provide products to specialty retailers which are cutting edge, fresh, novel, and at a price that screams value in order to remain in business.

This behavior has been extremely positive for specialty store owners because their product mix is still cutting edge, fresh and novel, but it is also represents a compelling value to the consumers of kids clothing. Specialty stores will never compete with Target on price, but with about 2,000 children’s boutique label manufacturers pushing the fashion value edge, consumers will find a lot of extremely exciting fashion at moderate prices. Collectively these small upscale fashion designers offer a product mix that could never be produced for the mass market.

Thank you Target, you made the upscale kids clothes industry change for the better! And just in time for a softer economy.

Tips on How to Read the Trends of Designer Kids’ Clothing

Kids have a right to look cute too! And there you have the exact reason why, when it comes to clothing, designer style has met kiddie style. One tip on figuring out the trends is to watch what celebrities wear. Watch your favorite TV shows on fashion to see what child stars wear. You can also check for the magazines. Since many celebrities pay careful attention to trends, they often dress alike. Just look around you, and make notes about things that catch your attention: when you start seeing the same interesting stuff being worn by lots of children, then you’ve found a new trend.

Go through a variety of shops. View what they have put on display for everyone to see. Ideally, you should have the kids come with you to the stores so that you know what fits and what doesn’t. Would this type of apparel suit your kids’ taste? Will they really wear those? Would these be a rightful match for them? Third, you can sew the clothes that they themselves design. Before buying clothes for your child, keep in mind his or her personality: shy children would feel uncomfortable in clothing that would make them stand out. Make sure that you remember to make outfits comfortable because children who are uncomfortable look grumpy, not cute and charming. Over-sized fur jackets wouldn’t properly fit a small child and clothes that tend to be revealing wouldn’t be the best thing to wear for someone very young. Be sure to coordinate clothing with your child’s age, looks, personal traits, favorite activities, and personal tastes. Make sure to take weather conditions into account as well.

Quality should be verified. Material quality is not ensured by high expense. It could just be that everyone wants this type of clothing because of their style and therefore, are willing to pay a higher price in order to purchase them. So don’t expect that you would get the same results as that of originals. Just ensure that the cut is done properly, and if it would fit your child just right.

Choose classic items. You may quickly discover that the clothes you purchased for your children are out of fashion, because the fads don’t last long and keep changing all the time. It is better to bring home classic items, including jeans, jackets, dresses, nice blouses, and simple, plain shirts. You could buy additional items and accessories for special occasions that are held regularly like Halloween, birthdays and holidays. Select a trend or two and mix it with their regular clothes or with past trends. Your kid will appear hip and fashionable even without wearing designer clothing.

Children’s designer clothing should be colorful, playful, and comfortable, like toys. They will look great and have a good time wearing these. No matter what the trend may be, the first thing you should assess is whether your kids are having a good time playing dress up with you.
